The hosts were comparing Apple's new iPad Mini with the foldable iPhone Duo Wesley had bought a week earlier. He argues the foldable phone makes the new small tablet largely redundant.
to say. They just probably didn't make that many. This is a very expensive tablet.
Yeah.
…of that, versus like, yes, the Duo is thinner. I don't know about the weight difference. I'm sure the iPad Mini is lighter overall. The weight distribution in tablet mode is very, it's so well distributed that you don't really think about the weight on the duo. But I just think the like even iPad OS, you're not gaining any advantages running iPad OS versus split screen on iOS. So for me, I think if you had the choice between spending $2,500 on an iPhone Duo or $2,500 on an iPhone 18 Pro and an iPad Mini, I'm going to do the iPhone Duo.
You saw me hesitate there. You heard me hesitate because I've been running a couple of Zoom sessions through the Duo and it's one of the apps that hasn't been updated yet. So you can't get it out of the thin bit in the middle of the screen. Well, I mean, if an app hasn't been updated, then it sits…
it's heavy enough that I like
it. It feels reassuringly heavy in my hand when it's folded.
