JT Josh Tyrangiel On The Prof G Pod with Scott Galloway

“I watched the launch. It was beautiful. Everybody celebrated. And then an hour or two later, I learned it was a dud. This is their third attempt to reuse the booster… And then an hour after I learned that this had been a dud, SpaceX just posted, oh, we landed our 600th booster, right? So 600 to 3. That's the distance between where SpaceX is… and where Blue Origin is.”

…program lasts beyond the Trump administration. So he's not trying to piss anybody off. He's not trying to do anything too provocative when it comes to Elon and Jeff. But we'll see. I mean, that is the place where you would expect the country to sort of assert its authority over these companies.

…does this test mean for Elon regarding what he's doing next? And how far would you say are Bezos and Blue Origin? Is it they're a year behind, 10 years behind, will never catch up? Where do they have the most ground to gain? What's the most friction in them catching up? Is it capital, technology?

…way down. I watched the launch. It was beautiful. Everybody celebrated. And then an hour or two later, I learned it was a dud. This is their third attempt to reuse the booster. The booster worked, but they didn't put the satellite in the right orbit. And so, you know, a $25 million satellite basically died. That's a problem. They do not execute nearly as well. So that was their third attempt. And then an hour after I learned that this had been a dud, SpaceX just posted, oh, we landed our 600th booster, right? So 600 to 3. That's the distance between where SpaceX is as far as routine execution of getting to space and where Blue Origin is. And Blue Origin's probably in second place. So there is a huge amount of executing to get to. Dave Limp is very impressive. He came from Amazon. He knows the way Bezos thinks. He's not a pushover. And he has started to make that company move a lot faster. But, you know, the scoreboard speaks for itself. It's 600 to 3. I…
