The hosts discussed why public anger at the rich has settled on tech billionaires in particular. Spiers argues people aren't distinguishing by how the money was made but by who says the most tone-deaf things in public.
…they what they've always done and i don't think the anger against them like there's a lot of our anger against mark andreessen who's like a tech billionaire there's not nearly as much anger against like mark andreessen's wife laura areaga who's also a billionaire because she's i think it's the tech
billionaires the tech billionaire specifically is where the anger is you can see it at the at the movie theater for example where there's three movies now um that are basically anti-tech yeah
the other thing is people are angry at whoever they consider to be the biggest avatar currently for billionaires so they're not talking about the walton family they're talking about the loudest voices in the room so i would also put people like bill ackman in that category to some extent trump i think there are you know especially younger people they're not making these distinctions about how people got their wealth they're making distinctions based on whatever stupid shit a billionaire gets up and says that feels very tone deaf or just inappropriate and so for voters i think the billionaires are a nebulous class and whoever is the least well behaved of the billionaires becomes the avatar for those people well that's
always going to be either trump or musk
yeah yeah probably
you know those pieces in your closet that you find yourself reaching for over and over again there's a sweater that you have that works with everything jeans that always fit the bag you carry everywhere that is totally what Quince does so well I am talking to you whilst wearing an awesome blazer…
