Said on Intelligent Machines (Audio)

“I think when people hear things like extinction event or Dario saying warnings of doom coming imminently, they think Terminator is going to happen or that suddenly it's going to be like the Matrix. That's not a realistic thing that is going to happen. … The thing that is more realistic that I think people should be concerned about is that this technology will enable people to commit large cyber attacks much faster without having many of the skills that it used to take. … I think the most realistic doomsday concern, but it's not as pithy.” — Paris Martineau, Intelligent Machines (Audio)

“Here's what this gets to, the ultimate question I think around this IPO and the whole future of the AI trade and the AI industry: models are commoditizing. Chinese models, there are more U.S. open source models that are going to be launching over the next year. The models leapfrog each other all the time. The value of having the latest and the best and the most powerful frontier model, I think is likely going to start to evaporate even in the next 12 months. What Anthropic is betting on, I think, is building a brand that says we are the safe AI. We are the good guys.” — Jason Hiner, Intelligent Machines (Audio)
