Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson · Food & Beverage · October 2026
Duplass, talking with host Jesse Tyler Ferguson about the 250 episodes Ferguson made of his long-running show. He says he has seen it many times: the work demands a full-court press until you're established, and only after that are you safe to start a family.
That's unbelievable. Isn't that crazy? So you made like 200-plus episodes.
Oh, 250. That's
incredible. Yeah. I mean, that's incredible. I mean, I do think, like, there's an interesting thing that I find in the world, people always say this, especially about children. They're like, you're never ready. You just got to do it. But I actually have an unpopular opinion in that in the entertainment industry, it's not true. Because what ends up happening is if you don't get established in if you don't get a regular paycheck, basically, and you have a kid, it will usually end your run at entertainment. I know this is unpopular, but it's just, I've seen it so many times. And it is one of those things where it's like, it's just what we do is very, very unusual. And it has to be full court press. And once you kind of get in and are grandfathered, then you're kind of okay on the other side of it.
Yeah.
You know.
No, I guess I mean, that is the bright side of it. It's like, yeah, I had the time to focus on just myself. Yeah. Yeah.
