The host recalls asking director Rob Reiner, whom he met while making a film, why Misery was his only horror movie. This is Reiner's answer as the host remembers it.
…And I think we can agree this is a horror movie, right? Do you agree genre-wise? And I asked him, like, close. Yeah. Oh, he also made Stand By Me. I mean, this guy, geez. All right. So I asked him why he didn't make more horror films. And he said, this one was like a warm hug of a horror film.
Yeah. I said, it's
pretty. I said, it's pretty, you know, it's pretty dark and disturbing. He goes, yeah, but it was something that I felt like you could watch with your mother-in-law and it would be okay. I will never forget that. He goes, and I like to watch movies. I like to make movies that you could watch with your mother-in-law. And I was like, Rob Reiner, what a guy.
That's great. That's great. And honestly, that's so sweet to hear because what he's done and all the films he's made, it's a loss for everyone. But this one really stands out to me in what he's done that shows his tenderness kind of through the film. Because there's times when you kind of are…
yeah, go ahead. I was about to say something before disturbing.
I have to don't say anything disturbing, please. I can't handle it. No, what do you want to say?
