What They Said

“I put in as my topic AI and journalism and did girl boss and came out with this terrible post. I posted it directly to my LinkedIn, of course. And it is by far the most successful thing I've ever posted on LinkedIn.” — Katie Notopoulos, The Aboard Podcast

Notopoulos had found a joke website that writes deliberately cringeworthy LinkedIn posts in a style you choose. She said her real articles get little traction there. LinkedIn's analytics showed that 95% of the people who saw the joke post were not her connections, so they had no way to know it was a joke.

And then it creates a purposely for LinkedIn style AI slop post for you. And so I did this. I put in as my topic, you know, AI and journalism and did girl boss and came out with this like terrible post. I posted it directly to my LinkedIn, of course. And it is by far the most successful thing I've ever posted on LinkedIn. So it's like, you know, I try to post like my articles that I publish because, you know, I want people to read them. You know, you know, that doesn't work. No, people loved the slop. And what I didn't realize is like, it's not just like the people, it's so algorithmic now on LinkedIn. So it shows you your like analytics or whatever. It was 95% of the people who were seeing it were not connections or whatever. I noticed

this. I know. If you stir the pot a little bit, it just, then it spreads and it really spreads. It's a huge platform. So

it was like my friends knew that this was clearly an AI slop post because it, you know, they knew me. They knew
